Chicago Fire FC transfers defender Carlos Terán to Clube Athletico Paranaense

Chicago Fire FC has announced the transfer of defender Carlos Terán to Brazilian Serie B club Clube Athletico Paranaense. The financial terms of the agreement were not made public.

“This is a great opportunity for Carlos to continue building his career,” said Chicago Fire FC Director of Football and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter. “We thank him for his contributions to the Club over the past five seasons and wish him the best moving forward.”

Terán, a 24-year-old Colombian center back, joined Chicago Fire FC during the 2020 MLS season. Over his tenure, he played in 87 regular season matches, scored five goals, and registered one assist.

Following this transfer, Chicago Fire FC will have a week off before hosting the New England Revolution on Saturday, September 6. The match will start at 7:30 p.m. CT and can be watched globally on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Local radio broadcasts will be available in English on wlsam.com and in Spanish on Que Buena Fire via the Uforia App. Marquee Sports Network will air a replay of the game on Monday, September 8 at 10 p.m. CT.
