Chicago Fire FC II midfielder Harold Osorio has been selected to join the El Salvador National Team for two matches in the final round of Concacaf qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The announcement was made ahead of the September international window.
El Salvador is set to compete in Group A, which includes Guatemala, Panama, and Suriname. The team will begin its qualifying campaign with an away match against Guatemala at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City on Thursday, September 4. The second match will see El Salvador hosting Suriname at Estadio Cuscatlán in San Salvador on Monday, September 8.
El Salvador reached this stage after finishing second in Group F during the previous round of qualifiers. The team collected eight points, placing behind Suriname and ahead of Puerto Rico, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Anguilla.
Earlier this year, Osorio played a role in El Salvador’s qualification efforts by participating in a 3-0 win over Anguilla and a 1-1 draw with Suriname. He also took part in all three group stage matches for El Salvador during the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup.
