Cook County Sheriff's Office reports felony charges for drugs and weapons in recent arrests

Cook County Sheriff's Office has announced a series of recent arrests and charges related to drug trafficking and weapons violations in the Chicago area, according to posts on its official Twitter account.

On September 12, 2025, the agency reported that "A 50-year-old Chicago man has been charged with multiple felonies following an investigation into drug trafficking at an apartment across the street from Portage Park. Cook County Sheriff’s Police investigators learned that narcotics were being delivered to Emberto Dircio Jaimes’" (posted September 12, 2025).

The following day, another post detailed a separate incident: "A 29-year-old Ford Heights man has been charged with weapons violations after a loaded gun and combat blade were found in his car during a traffic stop. A Sheriff’s Police officer pulled over a tan Cadillac near Woodlawn Avenue and Park Lane in Ford Heights, shortly after" (posted September 13, 2025).

On September 14, 2025, the Sheriff's Office shared information about an arrest resulting from foot patrols in Chicago's South Loop neighborhood: "While conducting foot patrols in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood, Cook County Sheriff’s Police recovered a loaded gun and 77 grams of suspected cocaine, leading to charges against a 35-year-old man. At approximately 1:15 p.m. on Sept. 8, Sheriff’s Police officers were near" (posted September 14, 2025).

These announcements reflect ongoing law enforcement efforts by the Cook County Sheriff's Office to address drug- and weapon-related offenses throughout Chicago and surrounding areas. The office regularly provides updates on public safety incidents via social media as part of its communication strategy.
