City of Wheaton Historic Commission met Sept. 16

1. Revisit 1231 Delles Road application.

◇ Additional support materials were provided by homeowner. See email from me on August 26 at 4:55pm for the additional information.

2. New application from Gary United Methodist Church – built in 1853.

◇ Copies of application will be provided at our meeting for your review.

VI. Old Business

1. Fall Lecture by the Ostbergs – Wheaton Fairgrounds October 23, 2025

◇ Bob to share promotional material and program updates

2. Community Relations Block Party – Saturday Sept 20, 2025 at Memorial Park

◇ Nancy to provide update on conversations with Kathy Bushong

3. 2026 Preservation Week educational program. Considering hosting a lecture by the Theosophical Society. They will be celebrating their 100th anniversary in 2026.

4. Blueprint Project

5. Review of 2024/2025 Annual Report before submitting to City Council (due to City Council by Oct 15, 2025)

◇ Debra plans to provide final 2024/2025 version for your review - prior to Sept meeting.

1. 2025/2026 Annual Report

◇ Discussion and agreement on the proposed change to our Commission “Name” and modification to language in “Purpose Statements”

◇ Action items to consider in next year’s Annual Report

• Each Commission to share their ideas

◇ Discuss an additional Commission meeting date to finalize 2025/2026 action items (date of meeting will need to be approved by City Clerk)
