Ted Dabrowski, a gubernatorial candidate and former president of Wirepoints, emphasized the executive authority of the governor's office during his campaign rollout. He said that this authority is crucial for streamlining agency operations, reducing costs, and ultimately alleviating the tax burden on Illinois residents.

"We have a powerful Governorship and there is much I can do," said Dabrowski, Candidate for Governor of Illinois. "cut expenses and deliver better results by simply running our agencies better."

Dabrowski engaged with voters at various campaign events over the weekend. On Saturday, he addressed the Wheeling Township Republicans and later met with the Republican Young Republicans at an event hosted by 8th District candidate Jennifer Davis. He also attended a vigil in Naperville honoring Charlie Kirk. On Sunday, Dabrowski traveled to western Illinois to participate in State Representative Dan Swanson’s annual Oktoberfest on his farm in Alpha.

Before embarking on his statewide tour, Dabrowski formally launched his campaign with a speech that highlighted his transition from public policy research to political action. Reflecting on his tenure at Wirepoints and the Illinois Policy Institute, he argued that political courage is essential for implementing meaningful change. "Without a willingness to put in the political fight, the best ideas can get buried before they ever see the light," he said, according to WTTW News.

According to the Sangamon Reporter, Dabrowski's campaign stops reinforced key themes from his campaign kickoff—chief among them was criticism of Governor Pritzker’s policies and a call for a values-based alternative. "What’s unique about my candidacy," Dabrowski said, "is that it’s not built upon my professional success… but on coalitions of support based on years of my policy work." His statewide outreach indicates a strategy focused on direct voter connection and message consistency.

Dabrowski brings over 30 years of experience in global finance and domestic policy. He held senior roles at Citibank in Poland and Mexico—advising governments during periods of economic reform—before returning to the U.S. to join the Illinois Policy Institute and later lead Wirepoints. Dabrowski holds degrees from Georgia Tech, the Wharton School, and the University of Chicago. His economic research has been cited by outlets including The Wall Street Journal.
