Cook County Sheriff's Office details recent arrests and ongoing investigations via Twitter

Cook County Sheriff's Office has released a series of updates on recent law enforcement activities through its official Twitter account. The posts detail arrests and ongoing investigations into crimes including arson, burglary, and armed robbery.

On September 16, 2025, the Cook County Sheriff's Office reported that "A Ford Heights man has been charged with arson after a Cook County Sheriff’s Police investigation found he set fire to a vacant home. At approximately 1 a.m. on Sept. 9, Sheriff’s Police officers on patrol in Ford Heights saw a house on fire in the 1300 block of Ellis Avenue."

In another update posted on September 18, 2025, the office requested assistance from the public: "Cook County Sheriff’s Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying four people involved in a smash and grab burglary in unincorporated Northfield Township.

At approximately 2:30 am on Sept. 14, Sheriff’s Police responded to a smoke shop in the 900 block of Greenwood Road".

Most recently, on September 19, 2025, an arrest was announced involving multiple agencies: " FUGITIVE FOUND The Cook County Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit, in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Task Force, arrested 19-year-old Daniel Reed who was wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Champaign. Investigators learned that Reed,"
