Renovations are underway at the Field Museum’s Africa Hall, with a reopening scheduled for 2028. The project aims to showcase the vibrancy and diversity of African cultures and will incorporate new research and highlight complex innovations from across the continent.

The museum is following its established practice of community consultation in planning the renovation. This approach was previously used during the renovation of the Native North America Hall, which reopened in 2022. Community members have been engaged throughout the process to ensure diverse perspectives are represented.
