Chicago Fire FC defender Andrew Gutman has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 37, following his role in the team's 2-0 win over Columbus Crew on September 27 at Soldier Field. This recognition marks Gutman's third starting selection to the Team of the Matchday this season.

Gutman, who is a graduate of the Chicago Fire Academy and a native of Hinsdale, Illinois, scored his first game-winning goal for his hometown club during Saturday's match. In the 25th minute, he delivered a shot from the left wing that put Chicago ahead 1-0. The Fire maintained their lead throughout the match and recorded their second consecutive shutout, securing their 14th victory of the season.

This is Gutman's third weekly honor in 2025; he was previously recognized for his performances on Matchdays 4 and 14. In his last appearance on the list, he contributed an assist and drew a penalty in a win against Charlotte FC on May 17. Over two seasons with Chicago Fire FC, Gutman has now appeared four times on the Team of the Matchday.

The MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 37 also includes Dor Turgeman (NE), Son Heung-Min (LAFC), Joseph Paintsil (LA), Indiana Vassilev (PHI), Nectarios Triantis (MIN), Braian Ojeda (RSL), Dante Sealy (MTL), Thiago Martins (NYC), Alex Freeman (ORL), Sean Johnson (TOR), and coach Pascal Jansen (NYC). The bench features Pedro Gallese (ORL), Artem Smolyakov (LAFC), Andy Najar (NSH), Albert Rusnák (SEA), Diego Luna (RSL), Milan Iloski (PHI), Mikael Uhre (PHI), Petar Musa (DAL) and Josef Martínez (SJ).

Chicago Fire FC will next play away against Inter Miami CF on Tuesday, September 30 at DRV PNK Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale. The team will then return home to face Toronto FC at Soldier Field on Saturday, October 4.
