Austin’s Fred C. Beeson House #4, located at 5830 W. Midway Park, may soon become an official Chicago landmark. Mayor Brandon Johnson introduced the proposal to the City Council today.

The house, built in 1920, is a Colonial Revival-style residence and is the fourth in a series of homes designed for Fred C. Beeson by architect Frederick R. Schock. Schock was known for his significant influence on the architectural character of Austin during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

If approved, the landmark designation would protect all exterior elevations of both the home and its garage.
