A $6 million entrepreneurship center is planned for West Garfield Park, according to a proposal introduced to the City Council by Mayor Brandon Johnson. The project would be supported by a $1.5 million Neighborhood Opportunity Fund (NOF) grant.
TruDelta LLC intends to use the grant to renovate a 13,100-square-foot building at 4400 W. Madison St. The renovated facility, named the K Entrepreneurship Hub, will offer offices, business advisory services, event space and a café. It is designed as an extension of Sankofa Wellness Village.
The NOF program provides grants funded by fees collected from downtown construction projects. These funds are directed toward investments in commercial corridors on Chicago’s South, Southwest and West sides. Grant awards over $250,000 require approval from the City Council.
