The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has announced the arrest of over 800 individuals in a recent operation named Midway Blitz. The initiative, led by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Border Patrol officers, focused on apprehending criminal illegal aliens across Illinois.

Operation Midway Blitz was launched on September 8 in memory of Katie Abraham, who was killed in a hit-and-run incident involving Julio Cucul-Bol, an illegal alien. The operation targeted those seeking refuge under sanctuary policies in Chicago and Illinois.

Despite threats and protests against ICE facilities, DHS officials remain committed to their mission. Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said, "During Operation Midway Blitz, DHS law enforcement has made more than 800 arrests across Illinois. The Trump Administration will not allow violent criminals or repeat offenders to terrorize our neighborhoods or victimize our children and innocent Americans."

Several notable arrests were made during the operation. These include Cristobal Carias Masin from El Salvador, convicted of statutory rape and other charges; Stefan Cseve from Austria, facing multiple sexual assault charges; Wajciech Janik from Poland for DUI and assault; Eduardo Sandoval-Secundino from Mexico for drug-related offenses; Arminas Lubianskas from Lithuania for overstaying his visa; Pedro Juan Avalos-Quezada from Mexico for aggravated assault; Ricardo Pichardo-Zambrano from Mexico for theft; Carlos Rene Contreras from Honduras for illegal re-entry; Refugio Ramirez-Larios from Mexico for weapon offenses; Angel Galindo Viveros from Mexico for armed carjacking; Yushell Alejandro Yin Del Toro from Mexico for domestic violence; Erick Antonio Huerta-Rojas from Mexico for DUI offenses; Yeik Michelle Ramirez-Alvarez from Mexico for armed robbery; Juan Jose Sanchez-Contreras from Mexico for cocaine possession; Alejandro Bernal from Mexico for larceny and trespassing; and Blanca Cecillia Sanchez-Sanchez from Venezuela as a gang member.
