Chicago Fire FC II will play against New England Revolution II in the first round of the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs. The match is scheduled for Sunday, October 19, at 5 p.m. CT at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. It will be broadcast globally on MLS Season Pass.

This marks Chicago Fire II's third consecutive postseason appearance. The team enters as the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference and was selected by third-seeded New England Revolution II under the league’s Pick-Your-Opponent format.

Chicago Fire II secured their playoff spot with a 2-1 comeback win over FC Cincinnati 2 on September 10 at SeatGeek Stadium. David Poreba returned to action for the first time since an ACL injury in preseason and played a role in the victory after entering in the 75th minute.

Forward Jason Shokalook won the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Golden Boot Award with 20 goals during the regular season. He scored twice in Chicago’s final regular season game, a 3-3 draw against Columbus Crew 2 on October 5. Shokalook had five multi-goal matches this year, all occurring in his last eight games. Notably, he scored four goals in a 9-2 win over New York Red Bulls II on July 27. Shortly before that performance, he signed a short-term contract with Chicago Fire FC’s first team and recorded an assist in his Major League Soccer debut during a win over D.C. United on July 7.

"Chicago will face New England for the first time in Fire II's third consecutive postseason appearance," according to Chicago Fire FC Communications.
