Chicago Fire FC is set to finish its 2025 regular season with an away match against the New England Revolution on Decision Day. The game will take place at Gillette Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the match globally through MLS Season Pass on Apple TV or listen locally via WLS 890 AM in English and Que Buena Fire on the Uforia App in Spanish.
The team has already secured a place in the Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs following a 5-3 victory over Inter Miami CF on September 30. With this final match, Chicago Fire FC aims to improve its position in the Eastern Conference standings. A win could move them up to sixth place, which would allow them to bypass the Wild Card round.
Director of Football and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter announced several changes to the starting lineup compared to their previous home game, a 2-2 draw against Toronto FC at Soldier Field on October 4. Defender Jonathan Dean returns for his 18th start of the season at right wing back, while Andrew Gutman continues his streak by becoming only the fourth player in club history to start every game in a 34-match regular season.
Midfielders Rominigue Kouamé and Dje D’Avilla will form a double pivot after both appeared as substitutes against Toronto and started during the playoff-clinching win at Miami. Jonathan Bamba also returns to the starting eleven after coming off the bench in their last match, joining Philip Zinckernagel in midfield. Zinckernagel is one goal or assist away from becoming the first Chicago Fire player with both 15 goals and 15 assists in a single season.
Goalkeeper Chris Brady is back from international duty with the U.S. Men’s National Team and will play his 28th match of the year, aiming for his 13th win and sixth clean sheet this season. The defensive trio of Sam Rogers, Joel Waterman, and captain Jack Elliott returns for their fourth start together in five matches. Elliott recently scored multiple goals for the first time since joining Chicago Fire during their draw with Toronto.
Forward Hugo Cuypers will make his 33rd start of the year as he seeks his 18th goal of the season, which would be second-most by any player in club history.
Unavailable players for tonight's game include defenders Leonardo Barroso and Viktor Radojević (both due to lower body injuries), as well as midfielders André Franco (lower body injury) and Chris Mueller (not due to injury). Substitutes available include goalkeeper Jeff Gal; defenders Omar González and Justin Reynolds; midfielders Maren Haile-Selassie, Brian Gutiérrez, Mauricio Pineda, Kellyn Acosta, Sergio Oregel Jr.; and forward Tom Barlow.
