Tom Ahern shares updates on Chicago police investigations into sexual exploitation and cold case arrest

Tom Ahern, a spokesperson for the Chicago Police Department, posted updates on X regarding recent law enforcement actions involving sexual exploitation and a significant breakthrough in a longstanding homicide case.

On November 14, 2025, Ahern posted: "SEXUAL EXPLOITATION @ChicagoCAPS10 @Area4Detectives https://t.co/Fq9Zojl5tI Special Investigations Unit #ChicagoPolice https://t.co/BiZMXODh3x".

Later, on November 15, 2025, he shared an update about a murder investigation: "Chicago Police Department Detectives Secure Murder Charges in 2004 Homicide Following International Search for Suspect. @StateDept Lima, Peru, @USDOJ_Intl @FBI @ILStatePolice @cookcountysao U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Task Force #ChicagoPolice https://t.co/szY3A1Tp32".

Ahern also posted another link without additional comment on November 15: "https://t.co/CWV6X7NOPa".

The Chicago Police Department has ongoing efforts to combat sexual exploitation through its Special Investigations Unit. In addition, the department recently secured murder charges in connection with a 2004 homicide after an international search that involved cooperation with agencies such as the U.S. State Department and the FBI.
