Property owners in Cook County paid 2.1% of the value of their homes in property taxes in the first quarter of 2025, which is more than 1.9 times the national average, according to the real estate analysis posted by Chicago City Wire.
In April, the median sale price of a home in Cook County rose by $23,000 from the same period in the previous year, while total sales decreased by 5.9%.
