A Roll Call was taken and the following Commissioners were found to be in attendance:

6 - Commissioner Juan Salgado, Commissioner Erika Allen, Commissioner Donald Edwards, Commissioner Tim King, Vice President Avis LaVelle and Commissioner Jesse Ruiz

1. General Business

17-2707-030 8 Resolution welcoming all people to Chicago Park District parks and facilities

A motion was made by Vice President LaVelle, seconded by Commissioner Allen that this Resolution be adopted. The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: 6 - Salgado, Allen, Edwards, King, LaVelle and Ruiz

Absent: 1 - Koldyke 

2. Approval of the Minutes

17-2706-030 8 Approval of the Meeting Minutes from the Regular Scheduled Meeting held on February 8, 2017

A motion was made by Vice President LaVelle, seconded by Commissioner King that these minutes be adopted. The motion carried by the following vote:

A motion was made by Commissioner King, seconded by Vice President LaVelle that the meeting enter into Closed Session. The motion carried by the following vote:

A motion was made by Commissioner King, seconded by Commissioner Edwards that this meeting return to Open Session. The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: 6 - Salgado, Allen, Edwards, King, LaVelle and Ruiz

Report on Closed Session Discussion:

President Ruiz reiterated that the Board of Commissioners went into Closed Session to consider matters appropriately discussed in Closed Session, pursuant to 5ILCS120 Section 2 Subsection (C), (a) and had the following matters of new business:

B'Nai Brown V. Chicago Park District

A motion was made by Commissioner Allen, seconded by Commissioner Salgado that this settlement claim be approved. The motion carried by the following vote:

Aye: 6 - Salgado, Allen, Edwards, King, LaVelle and Ruiz

Absent: 1 - Koldyke

5. Presentation from the Departments:

A presentation was made to the Board of Commissioners from Deborah Lahey, CEO and President of the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.
