The Illinois Republic Party is continuing its call for J.B. Pritzker, one of Gov. Bruce Rauner’s prospective Democratic challengers, to release his tax returns – almost seven months after he originally said he would.
The party said in a recent news release that it’s been over 200 days since Pritzker pledged to release his tax returns.
In October, the Illinois Republican Party reported that Forbes rated Pritzker the 219th richest American. His personal wealth was estimated at $3.4 billion.
The website also noted that Pritzker is advocating a progressive income tax.
“J.B. Pritzker’s hypocrisy on this issue is stunning – as he continues his calls to make the wealthiest pay more in taxes, Pritzker, one of our nation’s wealthiest individuals, continues to hide his own income taxes from the public, even as he orchestrates schemes to cut his own property tax bill,” the Illinois Republic Party said on its website.
