About 63.1 percent of the 1,439 degrees and certificates handed out by the City Colleges of Chicago-Harold Washington College in 2016-17 were to students in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Chicago conferred 908 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs.
But the single most popular program was for an associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 745 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 238 associate's degrees in Biological and Physical Sciences and 163 associate's degrees in General Studies.
The college enrolled 8,486 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
