Andrew Kolvet, executive producer for The Charlie Kirk Show, has voiced concerns regarding a parent's email about the school's handling of Lucy Martinez. Kolvet urged Nathan Hale Elementary to dismiss her. This statement was made on X.

"A parent from Nathan Hale Elementary School in Chicago, where Lucy Martinez remains employed, just forwarded this email to us from the school Principal Iles-Gomez," said Kolvet. "This parent is LIVID that the school is making Martinez out to be a victim without even acknowledging her vile behavior. It's simple Nathan Hale and Principal Iles-Gomez: Fire Lucy Martinez for mocking Charlie's murder, and the attention will subside. We will cheer you on! She failed life's pop quiz and has no business being around children."

According to The New York Post, a viral clip from a "No Kings" protest shows Chicago teacher Lucy Martinez, associated with Nathan Hale Elementary, mimicking a gun gesture to her neck in reference to the assassination of Charlie Kirk. A subsequent letter to parents from Principal Dawn Iles-Gomez highlighted threats against Martinez and school security but did not address the gesture itself. Coverage indicates that Martinez remains employed as of October 22, 2025.

Nathan Hale Elementary is a K–8 Chicago Public Schools campus listed by CPS under school code 609960. The CPS profile provides details such as address, enrollment, programming, and accessibility for families and serves as the district's official source for school information. These profiles are updated by CPS and serve as the district’s source of record for campus data.

The incident Martinez mocked followed the September 10, 2025 fatal shooting of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk during an event at Utah Valley University in Orem. Authorities described it as a targeted attack and confirmed no suspect was in custody as the multi-agency investigation continued. Timelines note rooftop gunfire and a broad manhunt led by state and federal partners.

Kolvet is also a spokesman for Turning Point USA. In the weeks since Kirk’s assassination, he has served as an on-air voice for the show, confirmed TPUSA’s decision to continue campus events in line with Kirk’s wishes, and represented the organization in national media while advocating for safety and free expression on campuses.
