Graduates earn 2,111 degrees from Northeastern Illinois University

About 19.9 percent of the 2,111 degrees and certificates handed out by the Northeastern Illinois University in 2016-17 were to students in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Chicago conferred 373 bachelor's degrees and 48 master's degrees in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Data shows the school gave out 177 bachelor's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies, followed by 136 bachelor's degrees in Social Work and 118 bachelor's degrees in Accounting.

The university enrolled 9,538 students for 2016-17, including 7,665 in undergraduate programs and 1,873 in graduate programs.
