Graduates earn 986 degrees, certificates from Saint Xavier University

About 28.6 percent of the 986 degrees and certificates handed out by the Saint Xavier University in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Chicago conferred 173 bachelor's degrees and 103 master's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. Data shows the school gave out 148 bachelor's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse, followed by 44 bachelor's degrees in Psychology, General and 42 bachelor's degrees in Biology/Biological Sciences, General.

The university enrolled 3,896 students for 2016-17, including 2,954 in undergraduate programs and 942 in graduate programs.
