Technology is at the top of Rep. David Harris' (R-Arlington Heights) list of good things about Illinois.
Tallying up a litany of positives about the Prairie State in the past few months, Harris had some good technology-related news at the May 25 House floor debate.
“Whenever anybody thinks about technology or technology innovation, they always think about, of course, Silicone Valley and San Francisco,” Harris said.

But not this time, he said.
KPMG, global professional service auditing company, named three locations outside of San Francisco that will be seen as the leading technology innovation hubs in the next four years, Harris said.
“Chicago was ranked third behind Shanghai and New York,” Harris said.
The third time is truly a charm this time around, he added.
“Last year Chicago, in the same rating, was ranked 18 and now they are ranked three,” Harris said. “Point is, we have a lot of creative people doing great things in Illinois and it is showing up in surveys like this.”
