Cost of college went up for all students at VanderCook College of Music

Tuition and fees rose 4.6 percent for 2017-18 at VanderCook College of Music, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois students paid $28,434 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year $1,254 more than the $27,180 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 20 students received grants or scholarships totaling $201,785 and 18 students took out student loans totaling more than $154,314.

Including all undergraduates, 101 students used grants or scholarships totaling $1.08 million. Another 89 took out $641,133 in federal student loans.
