Cost of college went up for all students at SAE Institute of Technology-Chicago

Tuition and fees rose 28 percent for 2017-18 at SAE Institute of Technology-Chicago, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois students paid $32,000 to attend the two-year private for-profit institution this year $7,000 more than the $25,000 charged for 2016-17.

Data shows 72 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 107 students received grants or scholarships totaling $471,730 and 106 students took out student loans totaling more than $932,770.

Including all undergraduates, 177 students used grants or scholarships totaling $782,886. Another 177 took out $1.44 million in federal student loans.
