Cost of college unchanged for all students at City Colleges of Chicago-Malcolm X College

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2017-18 at City Colleges of Chicago-Malcolm X College, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois residents paid $8,126 to attend the two-year public institution in both the 2016-17 and 2017-18 academic years.

Non-resident students would have paid 46.5 percent more than residents this year, or $11,906. Non-resident tuition and fees were unchanged from $11,906 in 2016-17.

100 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Illinois residents.

Data shows 86 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 432 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2.15 million and 38 students took out student loans totaling more than $113,837.

Including all undergraduates, 2,573 students used grants or scholarships totaling $10.16 million. Another 664 students took out $2.38 million in federal student loans.
