69 percent of applicants to Northeastern Illinois University were admitted for fall 2017

At Northeastern Illinois University, 57 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 56 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Chicago enrolled 8,984 students in fall 2017, including 7,113 in undergraduate and 1,871 in graduate programs, data shows. 16.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

98 percent of undergraduates are residents of Illinois, and 1 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Hispanic or Latino (37 percent) and white (28 percent).

The school admitted 69 percent of the 6,788 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 18 percent enrolled.
