Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Sept. 7.

Nine years ago on September 9, 2009, Gemini opened for business inside a former pharmacy in Lincoln Park. Owned by veteran restaurateurs, husband-and-wife team Ryan and Anna O’Donnell of Ballyhoo Hospitality and partner Paul Graves, Gemini continues to serve as everyone’s neighborhood restaurant even if they don’t live around the corner.

As part of a nine-day celebration, Gemini will be offering its signature cocktail, The Squirtsky, an on-draft mix of two types of vodka with lime and soda which speaks to the owners’ favorite college beverage, for $9.

Pastry Chef Tish Kim is making a special funfetti birthday cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. A free slice, adorned with a candle of course, will be given out on September 9 to Gemini diners, one per table.

In addition, a selfie contest is underway: Tag @geminichicago in a photo taken at the restaurant for a chance to win a $99 Gemini gift card. Winner will be chosen September 12.
