Report: 22.3% of Harold Washington College students repaying loans are in default

Out of 1,015 Harold Washington College students repaying loans in 2015, 227 were in default, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

That gives the two-year public school in Chicago a default rate of 22.3 percent for that year – 1.7 percentage points higher than in 2014 and 4.4 points higher than in 2013.

Harold Washington College had 47 more students in default in 2015 than in 2014 and 128 more than in 2013.
