Administrators in Chicago SD 299 School District earn an average of $112,009 per year, ranking 201st out of 864 districts in the state, according to a Chicago City Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 6.1% higher than in 2014 and 2% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 4.4% more than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Cook County school district enrolled 372214 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 251 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
