Ravenswood home prices fall in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Ravenswood, a Chicago neighborhood, fell by $18,750 while total sales increased by 34.9%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 502 homes sold, with a median sale price of $350,000 - a 5.1% decrease over the $368,750 median sale price for the previous year. There were 372 homes sold in Ravenswood in 2016.

The median sales tax in Ravenswood for 2017 was $7,181. In 2016, the median sales tax was $6,874. This marks an increase of 4.5%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.1%.
