Former state university employee Hudak David paid in $176K to pension fund, could collect $4.24M in retirement

Former state university employee Virginia Hudak David, who retired in August 2016, saved $176,053 toward a pension over 32 years working for state universities, State Universities Retirement System of Illinois records show.

Over 30 years of retirement, Hudak David would collect as much as $4.24 million, according to a projection by Local Government Information Services (LGIS), which publishes Chicago City Wire.

The projection assumes Hudak David received $89,050 in the first year of retirement, then 3 percent annual increases thereafter, compounded.

After 2 years of retirement, Hudak David will have already received $180,772 in retirement benefits, or more than the sum total of the retiree's contributions to the state pension fund.
