Incumbent Hernandez running for 38th Ward Republican Committeeman

Chuck Hernandez, the incumbent 38th Ward Republican Committeeman, is seeking to retain his post.

Hernandez, a graduate of Gordon Tech High School who attended Trinity International University, is a 22-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department. He currently serves as a detective on the North Side of the city and is the recipient of several department commendations.

A leader of the Northwest Side GOP club, Hernandez describes himself as an unwavering and consistent Republican who has cast a Republican ballot in every primary and general election since the age of 18.

The married father of three is active in his church and volunteers leading a group of 3rd and 4th graders in the Awana program.

Hernandez was appointed 38th Ward Republican Committeeman last year, following the resignation of Pete Podgorski, who endorsed Hernandez as his replacement.

The 38th Ward includes the neighborhoods of Dunning and Portage Park. It is bordered on the east by Laramie Ave., by the city limits on the west, by Lawrence Ave. on the north, and Belmont Ave. on the south.
