V. Citizens to be Heard

      Saleha Jawaid joined us and is interested in joining the commission. The current members unanimously approved her appointment and her name will be submitted to the City Council for final approval.

      Festival of Cultures

      Final details for Festival were covered.

      ACTION: Get posters out to your assigned area as soon as possible.

      Make a Difference Day

      Susan Manning from People’s Resource Center (PRC) presented. PRC will be holding their Stuff-ATruck event on October 26th. We will utilize the volunteer portal on GivingDupage.org to form a subcommittee to address a needs list for DuPage PADS. Volunteers will also be serving lunches at DuPage PADS and helping at their run.

      Good Citizens of the Year

      Date for 2020 event will be May 18th.

      Military Initiative

      Working with Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans on developing an informational survey to go out early October to better understand the landscape of this community and how we might best work with them.
