Q1 2019 Recap: Parolees near Illinois zip code 60609 convicted of drug crimes

There were five offenders convicted of drug crimes released on parole near Illinois zip code 60609 during the first quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Chicago City Wire.

The data shows that five men were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for drug crimes was 35. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 57-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Tyler J. Hofland. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2017 when he was 22 years old. He is now 24.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 zips in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in the first quarter who were convicted of drug crimes.
