ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 35: June Update From Rep. Hurley

Lawyer

Illinois State House District 35 issued the following announcement on May 30.

May 5th, Governor Pritzker released the Restore Illinois plan. The 5-phased plan sets guidelines and clarifications for business in Illinois. Under the Restore Illinois framework, certain businesses and activities are allowed to resume in Phase 3 with IDPH-approved safety guidance in place.

Phase 3, which went into effect May 29th, sets guidelines that span 10 different industry categories. Each set of guidelines includes a common set of guidelines that are expected and encouraged among all employers and activity types, as well as workplace and program-specific guidelines. Should you wish to find more specific information regarding the guidelines and specific thresholds for each category (i.e. fitness centers).

Moving forward:

Phase 4 – Revitalization: The rate of infection among those surveillance tested and the number of patients admitted to the hospital continues to decline. Gatherings of 50 people or fewer are allowed, restaurants and bars reopen, travel resumes, child care and schools reopen under guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Face coverings and social distancing are the norm.

Phase 5 – Illinois Restored: With a vaccine or highly effective treatment widely available or the elimination of any new cases over a sustained period, the economy fully reopens with safety precautions continuing. Conventions, festivals, and large events are permitted, and all businesses, schools, and places of recreation can open with new safety guidance and procedures in place reflecting the lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic.
