If there's one industry that has been bludgeoned by the restrictions surrounding the pandemic, it's live entertainment. However, with progress being made in vaccinations and the number of cases becoming lower by the day, some forms of live entertainment, such as live comedy, are finally beginning to return.
Comedian Tim Slagle joined Amy Jacobson and Dan Proft on Chicago's Morning Answer to discuss the return of live shows in Chicago. Lately, Slagle has been doing comedy shows on Zoom, which is less than ideal. In his words, "It's been pretty bleak, actually."
The hosts and Slagle touched on the current environment for conservative comedians and other comedians that tend to have edgy humor and deliveries.
Without audience feedback, Slagle and other comedians have found it difficult to practice their craft. Still, Slagle remains optimistic that the city will allow a return to in-person shows soon. And when they do, Slagle has fresh content for his guests and won't be afraid to target "wokeness" and "cancel culture."
