How many people who died of COVID-19 by March 26 in Chicago had pre-existing conditions?

Of the 5,770 individuals from Chicago who have died from COVID-19, 97 percent had at least one other condition contributed to the patient's death, according to Cook County Government records.

A report from the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention found influenza, respiratory failure and high blood pressure were the most common pre-existing condition found in COVID-19 fatalities.

Figures are accurate as of March 26.
