About the crime:

Offenders set up an online marketplace meet for the sale of a cell phone. Once on scene, the offenders say "give me everything". The offenders then rob the victims of their personal cell phones, credit cards and U.S. currency before fleeing on foot.

The described offenders are also believed to be the offenders in the robberies initiated from the address of several of the meeting locations, taking U.S. currency, phones and food from delivery drivers.

Incident locations:

  •  4400 block of W. Washington on January 5, 2023 at 11:10 p.m.
  •  4400 block of W. Washington on January 9, 2023 at 4:22 p.m.
  •  4400 block of W. Washington on January 10, 2023 at 10:45 p.m.
  •  4400 block of W. Washington on January 15, 2023 at 4 p.m.
  •  4400 block of W. Washington on January 21, 2023 at 3:45 p.m.
  •  4400 block of W. Washington on January 23, 2023 at 5:30 p.m.
About the offender(s):

The offenders are described as Black males, 19-22 years old, approximately 5'7”-5'9”. One subject wears a black mask and approaches the victim while brandishing a black handgun after the initial contact is made by the other offender.

What you can do:

  •  Remember any unique physical characteristics of the offenders (scars, limp, teeth, etc.).
  •  Never resist during a robbery or pursue a fleeing assailant.
  •  If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information.
  •  Try to meet at a Police Station or public location.
  •  Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible, and don't touch any evidence.
