About the Crime:

This alert gives notice to residents in the 015th District (Austin) of recent related burglary related incidents. An unknown offender(s) entered the buildings/ detached garages via a window, and took appliances, tools, pipes, conduit, and other building materials. The offender(s) then exited via the rear door. The offender(s) targeted buildings that are uninhabited due to being rehabbed or having recently suffered a fire.

•  5000 block of W. Congress on Ocotber 21, 2021 at 10:50 a.m
•  400 block N. Lavergne on Ocotber 31, 2021 at 12:37 p.m.
•  1100 block of N. Menard on Novmeber 1, 2021 at 12:00 p.m.
•  5400 block of W. Walton on November 4, 2021 at 6:09 p.m.
•  1000 block of N. Central on November 4-5 2021 at 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.
•  700 block of N. Long on Novemeber 6-7 2021 at 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m
•  700 block of N. Lockwood on Novemeber 14, 2021 at 11:00 p.m. – 9:30 a.m
•  4800 block of W. Quincy on Novemebr 19, 2021 at 6:00 a.m.

About the Offender:

•  Male black, short fade hair style, blue hooded sweatshirt, using a blue garbage can

What you can do:

• Do not touch anything until police arrive.
• Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible
• Please share any information you may have with on-scene police officers or with detectives at (312) 746-8253.
• If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
• Never pursue a fleeing offender, provide the information to the police
• Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth, etc...)
• Consider installing a camera system
