SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER – At 4:10 PM, Chairman Hoffman called to order the June 28, 2023 Regular Meeting of the Fire Police Commission at City Hall, 8 N Elmhurst Road, Prospect Heights, IL 60070.
ROLL CALL - Deputy Clerk Schultheis called roll. A quorum was present.
COMMISSIONERS IN ATTENDANCE - Chairman Hoffman, Commissioner Riebman
ABSENT - Commissioner Fiorito with previous notification
OTHER OFFICIALS I*N ATTENDANCE – Police Chief Caponigro, Deputy Chief Derman, Deputy Clerk Schultheis
APPROVAL OF MINUTES -
A. Approval of the Regular May 31, 2023 Meeting Minutes - Commissioner Riebman moved to approve the May 31, 2023 Regular Meeting Minutes as presented; seconded by Chairman Hoffman.
ROLL CALL VOTE:
AYES - Riebman, Hoffman
NAYS - None
ABSENT - Fiorito
Motion carried 2-0, one absent
CLOSED SESSION - Personnel Matters
A) Police Candidate Testing update
B) Lateral officer updates
At 4:11 PM, Chairman Hoffman moved to go into Closed Session to discuss personnel matters; seconded by Commissioner Riebman.
ROLL CALL VOTE:
AYES - Hoffman, Riebman
NAYS - None
ABSENT - Fiorito
Motion carried 2-0, one absent
RETURN TO OPEN SESSION – At 4:34 PM, the Commission returned to Open Session. A quorum was present.
NEW BUSINESS - Chief Caponigro noted that the Run/Rock the Runway was very successful, and there was a big crowd with no incidents.
Deputy Chief Derman noted that the Outreach Program had begun and that there were 30-40 children signed up for the Aquatic Center.
He added that the Police Color Guard and police squad cars and the Hummer would be in the Independence Day Parade on July 1.
It was noted that there 14 that took the Police test on June 17.

The Next Regular Meeting of the Fire Police Commission is scheduled for Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 4 PM, City Hall, 8 North Elmhurst Road, Prospect Heights, IL 60070.
ADJOURNMENT – At 4:39 PM, Chairman Hoffman moved to Adjourn; seconded by Commissioner Riebman.
VOICE VOTE: All Ayes, No Nays
Motion carried 2-0, Commissioner Fiorito absent.
