Chicago15th Ward Ald. Ray Lopez is leading a campaign powered by dedicated volunteers as he vies for a seat in Illinois' 4th Congressional District.

Lopez recently expressed his gratitude and stressed the importance of collecting qualified signatures to secure a spot on the ballot. He emphasized the need for additional support and tools to reach every door in the district.

"My campaign is powered by volunteers who believe in my message for common sense leadership that works and delivers for the residents of Illinois' 4th District. With one month left to collect as many qualified signatures to get my name on the ballot, it's all hands on deck, and that means buying the tools we need to knock on every door!" Lopez said.

He emphasized the importance of meeting their goals and encouraged his supporters to continue their efforts to ensure his name is on the ballot for the upcoming elections in the 4th Congressional District.

“We’re almost at our goal but still need you,” Lopez added of the petition drive on Facebook.

In addition to his campaign efforts, Lopez recently criticized incumbent U.S. Rep. Chuy Garcia for comments perceived as sympathetic to terrorists in the wake of the Hamas attacks on Israeli civilians. He accused Garcia of displaying a pattern of sympathy for terrorists, both abroad and at home. Lopez cited Garcia's opposition to resolutions condemning the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement against Israel, as well as his vote against approving $1 billion in supplemental aid for Israel's Iron Dome missile defense system.

The Republican National Committee also called out Garcia for his stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict, suggesting it resembled Hamas' propaganda. Concerns about Garcia's ties to organized crime in Chicago and his credibility regarding campaign donations and red light cameras were also highlighted, casting doubts on his ability to address gang violence and public integrity issues.

The 4th Congressional District includes various Chicago neighborhoods such as Brighton Park, West Elsdon, and South Lawndale, as well as parts of New City, Pilsen, Chicago Lawn, Clearing, Garfield Ridge, and Bridgeport. It also encompasses several Cook County communities including Burbank, Berwyn, Cicero, Brookfield, LaGrange Park, Northlake, Melrose Park, Berkeley, and Franklin Park. Additionally, the district includes the DuPage County communities of Hinsdale, Elmhurst, and Oak Brook.
