State Rep. Kelly Cassidy (D-Chicago) believes Illinois doctors performing abortions or so-called “sex change” surgery on children, and teachers who assign pornography to students, should pay less state income tax.

Cassidy is sponsoring Illinois House Bill 5152, introduced the Illinois House of Representatives on Feb. 9, which would create a $500 tax credit for such doctors or teachers.

The bill offers the $500 credit to any porn teacher or abortion and/or child mutilation specialist who "permanently relocates during the taxable year to this State from a State with more restrictive abortion laws or more restrictive laws concerning the access to (child mutilation procedures)... or (pornography) restrictions on educational materials imposed by the taxpayer's state of origin."

Cassidy said on Twitter that her bill is a "win-win" for Illinois.

The 56 year old, six-term House member who describes herself as "Illinois' lesbian lawmaker," married former GOP U.S. House Speaker's half-sister Candace Gingrich in 2017. Gingrich goes by "they/them pronouns," according to her Wikipedia page.

Last year, Cassidy said opposition to a bill requiring public girls' bathrooms to allow men who dress like women was akin to "physical violence" and "puts people at risk."

In June 2023, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker required school and community libraries to stock pornographic books like Gender Queer, which depicts oral and gay sex in comic book illustrations, aimed at middle school children.

Cassidy's 14th House District includes Chicago's Andersonville, Edgewater and Rogers Park neighborhoods.
