Mayor Brandon Johnson has announced the appointments of Dominique Warren as Director of Federal Affairs and Santiago Ginebra Campillo as Senior Legislative Assistant for the City of Chicago. These additions aim to enhance Chicago's federal affairs operations and strengthen its advocacy in Washington, D.C.

"Dominique Warren and Santiago Campillo are exemplary leaders whose expertise working at the highest levels of government will be game-changing assets for Chicago," said Mayor Brandon Johnson. "These additions are critical in assembling a world-class federal affairs team dedicated to vigorously championing Chicago's priorities in Washington. I am confident their work will ensure our city's voice is heard loud and clear on the national stage and deliver transformative results for our communities."

Warren previously served as National Deputy Director of Government Relations at the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), where he led federal policy on climate/environmental justice, immigration, and economic policy. He also coordinated electoral campaigns for SEIU and liaised with various federal agencies including the White House, Department of Treasury, and Commerce. In 2010, he was a mayoral fellow under Richard M. Daley's administration. Warren graduated from Morehouse College and attended the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan.

"I am honored that Mayor Johnson has placed his trust in me to lead Chicago's federal engagement strategy during this pivotal time," said Dominique Warren. "Having witnessed firsthand the complexities of the federal landscape, I am thrilled to bring my talents back to City Hall to forge strategic partnerships and translate the administration's bold vision into concrete policies and resources that create lasting, equitable impact for our city's residents."

Campillo brings extensive experience in government relations and public policy from his role as Legislative Counsel in the Mexican Senate, where he advised a former presidential candidate on issues such as children's rights, public safety, foreign affairs, and the economy. He has worked with international organizations including UNICEF, U.S. Department of Labor, World Bank, and Save the Children. Campillo holds a Master of Public Policy from University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy; a Master of Government and Public Policy from Universidad Panamericana; Syracuse University; and a bachelor's degree in public administration from Universidad Anáhuac.

With their combined decades of government relations expertise, including prior roles leading federal policy initiatives, Warren and Campillo are expected to maximize federal resources for Chicago while shaping policies that align with the city’s vision for equitable growth, robust infrastructure investment, and climate resiliency.
