Mayor Brandon Johnson, along with the City of Chicago and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), has announced the full lineup for the 2024 Chicago Air & Water Show. Scheduled for August 10-11, the event will take place along the lakefront from Fullerton to Oak Street, with North Avenue Beach serving as the show center from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

Established in 1959, this event is noted as the largest free admission event of its kind. Headliners include the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights.

New participants this year are stunt pilot RJ Gritter aboard his acrobatic Decathlon 150 CS and the Trojan Phlyers showcasing their historical North American Aviation Company T-28B aircraft.

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will perform during Chicago Navy Week, flying their F/A-18E Super Hornets. The team first flew in 1946 and is known for its skilled maneuvers and precision flying. The U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights will also return, performing jumps from an altitude of 12,000 feet to land on North Avenue Beach.

Herb Hunter, known as "the Voice of the Air and Water Show," will narrate this year's performances.

“The Chicago Air & Water Show is a grand spectacle unique to our great city,” said Mayor Brandon Johnson. “We are thrilled to again welcome millions of spectators to our lakefront for this annual show.”

“Every year our team at DCASE is proud to present hundreds of free events throughout the city,” said DCASE Commissioner Clinée Hedspeth.

The event features military and civilian performers demonstrating aerobatic maneuvers along Chicago’s lakefront. More information can be found at ChicagoAirandWaterShow.us.
