Chicago Fire FC and U.S. Soccer have announced the selection of four players from the Chicago Fire Academy for a U.S. U-15 Men’s Youth National Team training camp scheduled from October 13 to 19 in Fayetteville, Georgia. The players, Adrian Cerda, Christopher Morales, Jason Nemo, and Robert Turdean, will be accompanied by academy coaches Sammy Castellanos and Bruno Cardoso.
The camp marks the beginning of a new cycle for players born in 2010 and is led by U-15 USMYNT Head Coach Tom Heinemann. With four players selected, the Chicago Fire Academy has the highest representation at this event. Only four other academies have multiple representatives.
Morales, Nemo, and Turdean are returning to the national team setup for their second call-up together but their first at the U-15 level. Previously, they attended a domestic camp in March followed by a Talent Identification camp from May 25 to 30 at Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in California.
For Cerda, this is his first call-up to the national team as part of the Chicago Fire Academy. Last year he participated in a Talent Identification camp as a member of Bavarian United SC. This upcoming event will be the first time all four representatives attend a camp together.
Sammy Castellanos will join Heinemann's staff once again as head coach of the Fire’s U-18 side while Bruno Cardoso will assist as goalkeeper coach within this cycle.
