Chicago Fire FC concluded their 2024 MLS regular season with a 3-0 defeat to Nashville SC at Soldier Field on Saturday night. The match remained goalless until the second half when Alex Muyl scored for Nashville in the 54th minute, assisted by Anibal Godoy. Sam Surridge extended the lead in the 87th minute, and Jacob Shaffleburg sealed the victory with a goal in stoppage time.

This game marked Frank Klopas's last as head coach of Chicago Fire FC. Klopas, who has been part of the club since 1998, will transition to a new role as Vice President of Football. Gregg Berhalter, appointed last week as Director of Football and Head Coach, will take over all sporting operations.

"With his 33rd start, Chris Brady tied Sean Johnson for the most starts in a single season by a Chicago Fire goalkeeper," noted the club about Brady's performance this season. Several players were unavailable due to injuries: Chase Gasper, Andrew Gutman, Wyatt Omsberg, and Fabian Herbers.

The match statistics showed Nashville had slightly more possession and shots on goal than Chicago. The attendance was recorded at 23,942.
