Chicago Fire FC has revealed its roster decisions for the 2024 season. The club has opted to exercise the 2025 contract options for goalkeeper Jeff Gal and defender Jonathan Dean.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Spencer Richey, defender Rafael Czichos, and midfielders Fabian Herbers and Ariel Lassiter are out of contract and will not receive new offers for the 2025 season. Richey, Herbers, and Lassiter are now eligible for free agency, while Czichos is set to be available in the 2024 MLS Re-Entry Draft. Defender Allan Arigoni's loan concludes at year-end, with Chicago declining a transfer option, prompting his return to partner club FC Lugano.
Defender Wyatt Omsberg's contract is also ending, but discussions about his future with the club are ongoing. Chicago has declined the 2025 contract option for midfielder Javier Casas; however, talks regarding his future continue as well. Omsberg may enter free agency while Casas might be selected during End of Year Waivers.
The following players remain under guaranteed contracts through 2025: goalkeeper Chris Brady; defenders Chase Gasper, Andrew Gutman, Justin Reynolds, Tobias Salquist, Arnaud Souquet, Carlos Terán; defender/midfielder Mauricio Pineda; midfielders Kellyn Acosta, Gastón Giménez, Brian Gutiérrez, Maren Haile-Selassie, Chris Mueller, Federico Navarro and Sergio Oregel Jr.; forwards Tom Barlow, Hugo Cuypers, Georgios Koutsias and Missael Rodríguez.
Decisions regarding players currently on loan will be disclosed later.
