Chicago Fire FC II will face Columbus Crew 2 in the MLS NEXT Pro Eastern Conference Semifinals on Sunday, October 27, at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois. The match is open to the public and will be broadcast globally on MLS Season Pass.
As the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference, Chicago Fire FC II is the second-highest seeded team remaining. Philadelphia Union 2's selection of eighth-seeded Crown Legacy FC led to Chicago being paired with seventh-seeded Columbus Crew 2.
The team advanced to this stage after a penalty shootout victory against Orlando City B on October 20. The match ended in a 1-1 draw during regulation and extra time before Chicago secured a 5-4 win in penalties. Captain David Poreba, who also won the Golden Boot for the season, scored both during regulation and as part of the penalty shootout alongside teammates Harold Osorio, Peter Soudan, Vitaliy Hlyut, and Jean Diouf.
