Key players in this achievement were Dylan Fawsitt and Jason Higgins, both of whom scored hat-tricks. Fawsitt initiated the scoring early, securing his first try within seven minutes, followed by successful conversions from Adriaan Carelse. Higgins soon added to the scoreline, exploiting a gap in the Anthem's defense.

Anthem attempted a comeback with tries from Dylan Fortune and Te Rangatira Waitokia but faced strong resistance from Chicago. The Hounds maintained their lead into halftime with a score of 31-12.
