The Chicago Hounds achieved a significant milestone by setting a franchise record with 59 points in their victory over the Carolina Anthem. This win places them at 3-3-1 for the season and elevates them to second place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Key players in this achievement were Dylan Fawsitt and Jason Higgins, both of whom scored hat-tricks. Fawsitt initiated the scoring early, securing his first try within seven minutes, followed by successful conversions from Adriaan Carelse. Higgins soon added to the scoreline, exploiting a gap in the Anthem's defense.

Anthem attempted a comeback with tries from Dylan Fortune and Te Rangatira Waitokia but faced strong resistance from Chicago. The Hounds maintained their lead into halftime with a score of 31-12.

In the second half, Higgins continued his scoring streak, contributing to Chicago's new scoring record. Despite another try from Anthem, Chicago extended their lead further with contributions from Mike Matarazzo and Janus Venter. Reserve back Caolan Dooley also made his mark by converting two tries.

The match concluded with a decisive 59-26 victory for Chicago. Looking ahead, they will face RFC Los Angeles at SeatGeek Stadium in Week 8 of Major League Rugby’s 2024 season.
