The Chicago Hounds secured a significant victory against the New England Free Jacks, winning 26-20 at Veterans Memorial Stadium. This result brings the Hounds' record to 5-3-1 for the season. The match was tightly contested, with the Hounds needing a strong defensive effort in the final moments to clinch the win.

Adriaan Carelse led all scorers with 11 points, achieving a new career-high of 67 points for the season. On defense, he made 17 tackles. Mac Jones contributed significantly with two tries and 19 tackles, including two dominant ones. Dylan Fawsitt also added to his try tally for the season.

Jones opened the scoring early after a penalty on New England's Andrew Quattrin. Despite missing the conversion attempt, the Hounds took an initial lead of 5-0. The Free Jacks responded with a try by Sita Baker but failed to convert it, leveling the score.

Carelse successfully kicked a penalty in response to another penalty by Quattrin, putting Chicago ahead again. However, New England equalized through Jason Potroz's successful penalty kick shortly afterward.

Before halftime, Fawsitt scored another try following Baker's yellow card incident and subsequent penalty. This gave Chicago a halftime lead of 13-8.

In the second half, Jones extended Chicago's lead with another try followed by Carelse's conversion. The Free Jacks narrowed it back down with Paul Balekana’s try but missed their conversion attempt.

Carelse further extended Chicago’s lead with two more penalties before Balekana brought New England within one score again late in the game.

Chicago maintained their defensive stand until time expired to secure what is considered their biggest franchise win so far this season.
